Inspection of failed paint systems

Failure analysis involves collecting and analysing data relating to the failed coating system to determine the cause of the failure. It involves collecting any information that is relevant to the coatings, their application, storage conditions, preparation procedures etc.

Tip: the two most important pieces of information to record during a painting contract is the paints batch no. and the temperature when painting.

Our paint inspectors call to site and carry out an tests on your paint fault or failed paint system. They then compile an independent report to which will outline the reason or reasons for your paint system failing.

Tip: The most common factor for a paint system failing or paint faults occurring is inadequate surface preparation. If it is the case that your substrate was inadequately prepared we can include in our report advice as to how to repair the effected areas and how to prepare the area for recoating.
